We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Senior Technology Engineer – Network Infrastructure to join our client’s dynamic Technology Chapter. This is a critical role within the Group IT division, focused on designing, implementing, and supporting modern, scalable, and automated network infrastructure across cloud and on-premise environments. Job Purpose As a Senior Technology Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing, deploying, and supporting advanced network infrastructure, specifically focused on SDN-Fabric networks using Enterprise SONiC and legacy networking technologies. You will join the Platform Squad within a matrixed Group IT structure and report directly to the VP of the Technology Chapter while contributing to cross-functional agile teams. Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering and Architecture Design and implement enterprise-level network architectures including Datacenters, LANs, WANs, WLANs, Cloud (Azure, OCI, AWS), and hybrid networks. Lead the buildout of ENBD’s SDN-Fabric network using Enterprise SONiC. Support both new and legacy networking stacks (Cisco, SONiC). Drive infrastructure automation using tools like Python, Ansible, and others. Technical Leadership Guide onboarding of applications and customers to the new platform through automation and self-service. Educate and support Platform and Product teams to optimise transition and usage. Maintain a strategic focus over tactical fixes and reduce TCO via simplification and automation. Collaboration & Communication Work with Agile and DevOps methodologies, prioritising work based on backlog items. Liaise with cross-functional teams including Security, Architecture, Data, and Agile chapters. Communicate clearly with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency. Operations & Support Provide hands-on operational support for implemented network solutions. Drive decisions across delivery and operational contexts with focus on performance, cost, and time. Required Skills and ExperienceTechnical Expertise 8+ years of engineering or operational experience, with at least 3 years in a similar role. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with: Cloud Networking (Azure, OCI, AWS) Routing & Switching: BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, VLAN, Layer-2/3 protocols WAN optimisation, IPSEC, DMVPN NAC, WLAN, MACSEC, VPC Proficiency in: Network automation using Python, Ansible, etc. Telemetry protocols (SNMP, NetFlow, gRPC, Syslog, S-flow) Experience managing high availability, high throughput, and secure global enterprise networks. Tools & Platforms Cisco, Enterprise SONiC, Cloud platforms (Azure/OCI/AWS) DevOps toolsets and agile delivery pipelines Education Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) Key Behavioural Competencies Strategic thinker with the ability to operate at abstract levels Proactive, with a self-starter mindset Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Effective under pressure; maintains composure during high-stakes situations Collaborative with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
