Job Description: As a Sr Technology Project Manager Global supporting the Agentic AI – Customer & Commercial Pod, you will help deliver intelligent, Customer‑facing AI solutions that simplify complex workflows and enable more natural, intuitive interactions across Southwest’s digital channels. In this role, you act as a key link between strategy and execution—aligning funding, dependencies, roadmaps, and delivery across a highly visible agentic AI program supporting the largest domestic airline in the United States. You will work closely with Teams across product, engineering, data, security, and operations to drive Agile delivery, manage portfolio governance, and ensure clear alignment on priorities and outcomes. By providing consistent, metrics‑driven visibility into progress, risk, and performance, you help ensure AI capabilities are delivered safely, reliably, and with measurable value for both Customers and the business. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex, global initiatives while contributing to the evolution of Customer‑centric AI platforms used across Southwest. Responsibilities Partner with Technology Managers and Directors to lead large Technology projects/programs in support of department or enterprise strategic plans Serve as a project Leadership resource responsible for driving analysis, recommendations, decisions and delivery Define complex project plans/roadmaps for multiple simultaneous projects or for a single highly complex project or program including scope, budget and schedule and execute tasks defined in the project plan to achieve project goals using standard project management methodologies and practices Work with development and application teams to breakdown work into smaller components or features and to identify critical path Drive testing and acceptance of project or program results across multiple teams Mentor and coach other Project Managers Monitor risks, issues, and scope proactively, ensuring the appropriate level of priority, visibility and escalation Communicate plan and all relevant components such as risk, schedules, expectations and ongoing updates to Stakeholders, Sponsors and Project Teams to maintain project alignment Build partnerships to collaborate and use influence to gather Customer and business requirements and communicate effectively with all project Teams and support groups Work with partner teams across portfolios to plan (define scope of dependencies), to track execution of work, and to visualize the full scope of work including business capabilities and architectural runway May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expert knowledge of project processes, problem management tools and procedures Advanced knowledge of Agile development practices and ceremonies Advanced knowledge of application impact on operational and business functions Skilled in proficient financial acumen to interpret corporate financial analysis and financial statements Skilled in strong Customer Service and Team orientation Ability to assume a high level of responsibility and provide direction in a Team-oriented environment, directing tasks to finish by scheduled completion date Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, at all levels Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, collaborative, Team based environment and maintain composure under pressure and accurately assess problem situations Skilled in Leadership to direct performance of outside Contractors and maintain positive relations with internal Customers Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training Experience Required: Expert-level experience, expansive and far reaching knowledge in project management 8-10 years of relevant work-related experience Technical program management for platform/AI initiatives (8+ yrs) with dependency and milestone ownership. Cross-team orchestration: align product, engineering, security, data, and ops; drive decisions and unblockers. Agile delivery management (Scrum/SAFe): plans, RAID logs, sprint/PI execution, release readiness. Metrics-driven delivery: define and track outcomes (deflection/containment, latency, adoption) and report exec-ready status. Experience managing vendor/partner dependencies and contract deliverable governance. Preferred: Exposure to Generative AI, Agentic AI, or LLM-powered applications Certifications related to agile/SAFE Familiarity with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) concepts and AI workflows Understanding of AI/ML lifecycle, model deployment, and evaluation practices Experience in GCC or global delivery operating models Other Qualifications Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information Ability to work extended hours as needed Southwest Airlines is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
