Description

WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT HASHICORP DESIGN?

At HashiCorp, we work on products that our users and customers love. It dramatically eases the work and overhead of deploying and managing infrastructure for teams, allowing people to focus on the uniquely valuable parts of their job rather than tedious and repetitive tasks.
This means customers really use our software and provide lots of feedback. Gathering and understanding this feedback requires that we collaborate across multiple disciplines, including Product, Engineering, Field, Marketing
We design and build workflows to enable our customers to secure their applications and protect sensitive information data. We focus on enabling platform teams and their customers (typically developers) to adopt and improve strong security practices. We do this with the user at heart and our ‘beauty works better’ principle in hand. We believe the design process can and should feel satisfying for stakeholders, continually improve with insights, and regularly deliver positive outcomes for our business.
We find that our principles of Kindness, Humility, and Reflection allow team members to collaborate openly and safely. We look to help and learn from each other and win together.
HashiCorp Design is looking for people who want to do the best work of their careers to join us and make all of us better.

  • You are a mid-level to senior UX researcher with at least 3 + years of professional experience conducting research in enterprise software

  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Experience conducting all aspects of user research operations, including screening and recruiting participants; scheduling; data collection; and analysis and organization of that data.
  • You enjoy working collaboratively with a distributed remote team.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re building a team, and will be hiring for multiple positions at different levels.
As a Sr. Researcher, joining our newly forming Research team within Product Design, you will focus on developing and helping our teams develop an understanding of our users’ needs and behaviors to drive evidence-based decision-making.
You will drive alignment and collaboration around the questions the organization is asking, the decisions that teams need to make and help identify what evidence and insights we need to gather or synthesize to help inform those decisions. The outcome of your work will be strong collaborations and trusted partnerships through which we can collectively build a clearer understanding of target users, their contexts, goals, tasks and needs as well as the surrounding ecosystems.
We’re building a team!

WHAT YOU’LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Be a passionate researcher who thrives in uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Work closely with product teams to identify meaningful research questions and choose methodologies that will most effectively answer them
  • Generate insights and deliver compelling presentations of your findings that shape how product teams think about medium and long-term product strategy
  • Conduct research using a wide variety of methods, and interpret analysis through the lens of UX, HCI, and social science
  • Partner with designers, other UX researchers, product managers, engineers, and other technical roles to conduct and share research in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
