Senior Wireless Network Test Engineer (Munich, Germany) Location: Munich, Germany (Onsite) Employment Type: Full-time Work Authorization: Candidates must have the legal right to work in Germany (EU citizen or valid German/EU work permit) Position Overview Inabia is expanding its telecom engineering presence in Europe and is seeking an experienced Senior LTE/5G Network Test Engineer to support advanced mobile network testing for a telecommunications client in Munich. This role requires strong hands-on experience across 4G/LTE, 5G NR, RAN, Core (EPC/5GC), and IMS/VoLTE, along with expert knowledge of test tools and log analysis. The ideal candidate brings deep technical understanding of 3GPP standards and can execute end-to-end testing in both lab and field environments. Key Responsibilities 1. LTE / 5G NR Network & Protocol Testing Execute full lifecycle testing: attach, registration, bearer setup, PDU sessions, VoLTE/VoNR call flows Validate handover (HO), data performance, throughput, latency, jitter, packet loss Conduct KPI evaluations and troubleshoot performance degradations 2. RAN, Core & IMS Troubleshooting Debug issues across gNB/eNB, EPC/5GC (MME, AMF, SMF, UPF), and IMS components Analyze protocol behavior across RRC, NAS, SIP, RTP, Diameter Collaborate with vendor engineering teams, device OEMs, and operators 3. Test Environment Ownership Build/manage test beds including UEs, SIM configurations, APNs, gNB/eNB parameters Integrate and maintain testing frameworks and network simulators (Keysight/IXIA/Spirent) Ensure environment stability for regression, performance, and interoperability tests 4. Tools & Log Analysis Use advanced telecom tools including: QXDM / QCAT / QTRACE Wireshark / tcpdump Keysight/IXIA, Spirent, Anritsu TEMS, X-Cal, Rohde & Schwarz tools Interpret logs to diagnose failures and produce clear RCA documentation. 5. Reporting & Collaboration Create detailed test cases, test plans, KPI dashboards, and defect reports Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams in Germany and internationally Provide technical input during planning, integration, and software release cycles Required Qualifications 5+ years’ experience in LTE/5G network testing or mobile device/network validation Strong experience with VoLTE/IMS, RRC/NAS debugging, and core network interactions Hands-on proficiency with telecom test tools (QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark, TEMS, X-Cal, Keysight/IXIA) Excellent understanding of 3GPP standards for LTE and 5G Ability to conduct structured testing in both lab and field environments Ability to work onsite in Munich Legally authorized to work in Germany (EU citizenship, Blue Card, or valid German work permit) Preferred Qualifications Experience with European mobile operators (e.g., Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, Telefónica/O2) OEM device testing (Samsung, Google, Motorola, Xiaomi, etc.) Familiarity with private 5G, CBRS-like shared spectrum, or enterprise 5G deployments Experience with KPI automation, scripting, or CI/CD testing frameworks
