SUMMARY

Catholic Charities of Acadiana is seeking a reliable and hardworking St. John Campus Care Coordinator to join our team. This position plays an essential role in ensuring that the St. John Campus remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all who visit. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and able to balance strong work ethic with respectful communication. This is a hands-on role where you will make a visible difference every day. As a St. John Campus Care Coordinator, you help create an environment of dignity and care for clients, staff, and volunteers. You’ll be part of a mission-driven team that serves our community with compassion.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills; able to set boundaries respectfully.
  • Ability to use common technologies and adapt to new digital tools as needed.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and indoors in varying environmental conditions (heat, rain, cold).
  • Physically capable of heavy work (lifting/moving up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently).
Responsibilities
  • Perform daily pressure washing of sidewalks, exterior areas, and designated outdoor surfaces.
  • Clean interior common spaces, including restrooms and shared areas (not staff offices, diner kitchen, or shelter).
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, disinfect floors and surfaces, and restock supplies as needed.
  • Maintain restrooms with daily cleaning and weekly deep cleans.
  • Empty designated trash bins and properly dispose of waste in dumpsters (excluding diner kitchen and shelter trash).
  • Pick up litter and debris on campus grounds to ensure a safe, tidy exterior environment.
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, and windowsills.
  • Apply fly-control measures near dumpsters as assigned.
  • Report safety hazards or maintenance concerns promptly to the Building and Grounds Maintenance Manager.
  • Complete light repairs or upkeep only with supervisor approval.
  • Assist with preparation and clean-up before and after weather events or disasters.
  • Carry out other assigned duties that support a safe and welcoming campus.
