Doctors Direct have an exciting opportunity for an ST1 - ST2 to work with us in Psychiatry at our South London & Maudsley NHS trust

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including history-taking, mental state examination (MSE), and risk assessments.
• Diagnose and formulate management plans for psychiatric conditions such as:
• Schizophrenia and psychotic disorders
• Depression and mood disorders
• Anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders
• Personality disorders
• Substance misuse
• Neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., ADHD, autism)
• Dementia and cognitive impairments
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring compliance with NICE guidelines.
• Manage psychiatric emergencies, including acute agitation, self-harm, and suicidal ideation.
• Liaise with the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) for urgent referrals.
• Assess and apply Mental Health Act (MHA) legislation where appropriate.

Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Collaboration

• Work closely with nurses, psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists to develop patient-centered care plans.
• Attend and contribute to MDT meetings, ward rounds, and care planning meetings (CPA reviews).

• Days per week: Mon-Fri, incl. 09.00 to 17.00 and on call rota
• Start date: ASAP
• Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies
