Description

The candidate will work collaboratively within Ford and multiple supplier partners to launch Vehicle systems and commodities including body exterior, vehicle and battery structures, frames, underbody, powertrain, electrical and Body Interior commodities for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles for Ford Blue and Model-e programs. The candidate will be responsible for industrializing and managing Quality, Capacity and resolving production delivery issues for new model programs launches and “in-series” production programs. Depending on your assigned supplier site locations, flexibility to travel within US/Canada and Mexico is required.

Responsibilities
  • Drive Flawless Launches at assigned supplier sites, collaborating with cross-functional team through adherence Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Supplier Quality Issue Resolution, escalate significant issues promptly and provide “date to green” plan and lead in Launch Readiness Reviews.
  • Conduct onsite evaluations for priority commodities per Global Product Develop System (GPDS) supplier engagement process for new programs and delivery of PPAP in-line with program timing.
  • Review supplier incremental capital and tooling work plans compliance to PPAP requirements and launch new equipment / tooled end items on time with quality and at rate
  • Support Capacity Purchasing team with capacity studies interfacing with suppliers and Ford cross-functional teams
  • Drive capacity/uplift actions implementation with suppliers in-line with the GCP study requirements
  • Drive supplier process capacity issue resolution as needed, and production constraint risk mitigation working with Ford and Supplier teams and manage “date to green” work plan
  • Review supplier Capacity Analysis Reports (CAR) for compliance to uplift capacity requirements
  • Drive robust supplier Failure Mode Avoidance through Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), SCCAF, Control Plan reviews, manufacturing feasibility reviews and health chart deployment as applicable
  • Drive supplier manufacturing health chart compliance and support development of new manufacturing health charts
  • Drive suppliers for special process compliance with the support of Ford Technical Specialists
  • Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing excellence with the assigned sites through Manufacturing Site Assessment (Q1-MSA) deployment, Q1 attainment/retention and supplier training as required
  • Drive deployment and improvement of quality performance requirements (Q1, QR, TGW, R/1000, CPU) through Warranty Reduction, Benchmarking, Lean Manufacturing, Global 8D methodology, PFMEA, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R), as required
  • Drive new supplier site evaluation and supplier risk assessment for new sourcing and mitigation actions
  • Drive closure of supplier process quality issues related to Stop Ship/Build, BSAQ projects, and Field Action Stop Ship/Prevent Action
  • Identify Manufacturing and quality gaps and establish/monitor Continuous Improvement Action Plans (CIAPs).
  • Drive new supplier site evaluation and supplier risk assessment for new sourcing and mitigation actions
  • Drive closure of supplier process quality issues related to Stop Ship/Build, BSAQ projects, and Field Action Stop Ship/Prevent Action
  • Drive compliance to all organizational and corporate training requirements and Supplier Improvement Metrics and Process Compliance.
  • Travel within USA, MX, Canada depending on assigned supplier site locations.
