POSITION OVERVIEW:

AAA Septic is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for managing full cycle accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting management with budgeting, payroll, and reporting. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of accounting principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and thrives in a role that requires attention to detail and critical thinking.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in accounting or full-charge bookkeeping; bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is a plus.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent computer and communication skills, including Microsoft 365 suite, project management software, VoIP phone systems, and professional communication standards via phone and email.
  • Highly organized, with strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries for month-end closing, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable support, including processing customer payments, refunds, and bank deposits.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, including payroll tax submission, verification, and reporting.
  • Maintain and monitor fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing regular cash flow reports and budget commentary.
  • Support annual audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations, state and federal tax laws, and company policies.
  • Recommend improvements to accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
