We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant, who will be responsible for maintaining AE Techron’s financial records including performing tasks such as preparing financial statements and reports, reconciling accounts, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with generally accepted account principles. The Staff Accountant’s responsibilities will also include acting as the backup for payroll and similar time sensitive HR functions.
This position will report directly to the company President.
The Staff Accountant’s objectives include:
- Responsible for all aspects of accounting (accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer invoicing, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, credit card report reconciliation, cash applications, collections, and payroll).
- Responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial processing, including the month-end closing process, cash management reports, and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
- Responsible for cash management, including performing international wire transfers, ACH payments, and maintaining lines of credit.
- Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports, answers accounting and financial questions to support company leadership by researching and interpreting data.
- Embody personal core values that are consistent with company core values.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Maintain professional banking relationships and communicate with company accountants.
- Process new customer credit references and assign credit limits and terms.
- Coordinate preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Manage and prepare year end documents for company accountants.
- Review payroll taxes and ensure timely payment of payroll and corporate taxes by payroll service.
- Prepare State Sales and Use Taxes, reports and forms.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, bank reports, and various detailed analysis reports, including MISC-1099s as required.
- Maintain files and comply with record retention requirements.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Strong organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities with superior numeric skills.
- Possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be results and profit oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations and perform multifaceted projects.
- Must be highly motivated and can function independently and multi-task.
- Must have the ability to manage delegation to and guidance of one direct report.
- Expert computer skills – including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software systems.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Required: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting.
- Required: Minimum of 3-5 years experience in general staff accounting or financial bookkeeping.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting.
- Advancement Possibilities: Senior Staff Accountant or Accounting Manager
Anticipated Compensation Range:
- The pay range is $65k-$80k, commensurate with education and experience.
