JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of GAAP, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Assist with external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
  • Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
  • Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience (public or corporate accounting preferred).
  • CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and time management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of tax preparation and compliance.
