Description

Responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions in one or more of the following areas: accounts payable , accounts receivable, and some general ledger functions. These functions include entering and coding invoices, obtaining compliance documents for accounts payable, preparing the weekly payment batch, general office support including ordering supplies and other responsibilities as needed. This is a non-exempt position to the Assistant Controller.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment

  • Associates or Bachelors in Accounting or working towards degree completion
  • Minimum of 2 year clerical and/or accounting experience, preferably construction
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and double entry bookkeeping
  • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic manner
  • Requires knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word
  • ERP system experience strongly preferred
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with vendors
  • Requires basic keyboarding or other repetitive motion

Responsibilities

· Performs accounts payable functions such as entering invoices, researching discrepancies, and resolving issues with unpaid invoice
· Prepares work to be processed by gathering, sorting, and organizing data and documents
· Verifies accounts by reconciling transactions, investigating, and resolving discrepancies
· Maintains historical records by preparing and filing documents
· Verifies information by auditing and proofing reports
· Files preliminary notices, lien waivers, and certificates of insurances
· Enters invoices and waivers daily from AP email into ERP
· Reconciles credit card accounts monthly
· Collects and reviews quarterly vendor statements
· Support month-end and year-end close process
· Performs general ledger account reconciliations
· Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
· Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
