GROWING NORTH SHORE FOOD MANUFACTURER SEEKING STAFF ACCOUNTANT/AR SPECIALIST FOR OUR DANVERS PLANT.

Position summary:
The Staff Accountant/AR Specialist will oversee customer billing and price management, key accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and support strategic decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in manufacturing environments. This position will report to the Controller.
Primary responsibilities:
· Accounts Receivable
o Process invoices to customers at point of shipment
o Ensure accuracy of shipping documentation
o Track open orders to ensure completion of shipment and billing
o Post and reconcile customer payments
o Follow up on past due invoices
o Manage customer portals
· Financial Reporting & Analysis
o Assist Controller with monthly financial statements and reporting
o Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
o Support external audits and tax filings
· General Ledger Management
o Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
o Post journal entries and manage accruals
o Assist Controller with completing monthly close within deadline
· Internal Controls & Compliance
o Monitor and improve internal controls
o Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
o Complete census data and assist with government reporting, census, insurance audits and compliance
· ERP & Systems
o Must be comfortable using QuickBooks, EDI and other ERP software
o Support system upgrades and process automation initiatives
Requirements and minimum education level:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
· 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in food or CPG manufacturing
· Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory management
· Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
