Atherton & Associates, LLP is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Staff Accountant to join our team and contribute to our ongoing growth and continued excellence in service to our clients within our Client Advisory Services (CAS) department. We provide a full suite of services, business accounting solutions, and a depth of resources to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of our clients. About The Job: Monitor and manage financial processes, ensuring alignment with Firm guidelines and internal financial policies. Prepare client financial reports weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. Manage and reconcile the clients’ accounts payables and receivables. Reconcile sales and inventory reports. Assist in creating budgets. Work collaboratively with clients’ personnel to help solve financial and clerical issues. Create, review, and maintain accounting records as well as keeping a record of business transactions. Process payroll using client-provided timekeeping records. Prepare quarterly filings for payroll, mill, and sales tax in accordance with statutory deadlines. Assist in training of less experienced accountants, delegate assignments and review their work. Assist clients with accounting setup, including software data migration and setting up chart of accounts. Track fixed asset activity & maintain depreciation schedule. Reconcile trial balance and other tasks for month-end close. Perform special accounting and finance projects as needed. Requirements About You: 3+ years of progressively responsible relevant work experience GAAP proficiency preferred Software Experience: QuickBooks Suite, including online required; MS Word & Excel Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment Critical thinking and problem solving High level of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent customer service focus and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively collaborate with internal team members and clients.
