Job Title: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Job Classification: Full-time, salaried, exempt position
Salary Range: $65,000 to $80,000 annually

GENERAL SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing and participating in full-cycle A/P, A/R, posting/reviewing of GL, managing monthly credit card statements, and other general accounting duties. They will assist with cash management, financial reporting, and produce monthly financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 3+ years of related experience, preferably within the non-profit sector. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
· 3 or more years of related work experience (non-profit sector preferred)
· Computer/System Skills: Excel and Microsoft Office software, Outlook. Financial accounting software, preferably with MIP Fund Accounting
· Prior experience applying knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Skills in organizing, planning, and prioritizing work
· Ability to balance multiple assignments and complete projects and tasks on-time and accurately
· Communication skills (active listening, reading comprehension, writing and speaking with others to convey information effectively)
· Ability to demonstrate a professional demeanor
· Ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with staff, Board Members, guests, and others related to the work of BGCP
· Ability to demonstrate high levels of integrity, ethics, and trustworthiness.
· Ability to obtain successful clearances on all background checks and other pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to: National, state and local criminal background checks; RI DCYF C.A.N.T.S. background check; out-of-state child abuse registry checks (if applicable); federal I-9 clearance for identity and eligibility to work in the U.S.; continuous “Criminal Records Watch” through First Advantage during BGCP employment; reference checks.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
