POSITION SUMMARY:

Childress Vineyards is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with up to 4+ years of experience to support our growing accounting team. This role is responsible for handling a variety of accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and eager to contribute to the continued financial success of the winery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Up to 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (winery, hospitality, or manufacturing industry experience is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems)
  • Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and vendor balances
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal use and external audits
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processes for accuracy
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts in collaboration with department heads
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and GAAP
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
