  The Role: KOS Services Inc. / Dental Dreams actively seeks a motivated, entry-level Staff Accountant. The role will oversee the accounting for a subgroup of company operations and be comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Candidates must be highly accurate and detail-oriented, have the depth of understanding to check their work, and be experienced in working independently and meeting deadlines. This job is onsite and located in River North, Downtown Chicago. No remote work!   Who Are We: We oversee accounting for various practices within a dynamic, growing company with offices in Illinois, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, New Mexico, South Carolina, Louisiana, California, Michigan, and Washington, DC. Our mission is to provide high-quality dental services in first-class facilities.    Responsibilities: * Review and record financial activity during monthly, mid-year, and year-end accounting close processes, including preparation of journal entries and monthly financial review package * Ensure all revenues, expenses, and balance sheet items are correctly and accurately recorded and result in the accurate and timely presentation of the Company's financial condition according to GAAP and company procedures. * Review and process account payable transactions timely and according to deadlines. * Assist in preparing supporting schedules and other processes related to mid-year and annual financial statement audits and other government audits as needed. * Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy within the role and for the department. * Oversee filing of records related to operations the accountant oversees * Perform ad hoc tasks and reporting requests for the management team as needed related to the various functions  * Collaborate effectively with internal and external contacts in the oversight of company operations for business units. Stable / Growing company and industry   Qualifications: Required: * A four-year undergraduate degree in Accounting from an accredited university or college, or equivalent accounting experience * MUST BE ABLE to work 5 days in office * 1-2 years of professional accounting experience * Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office suite of products * Strong general accounting, accounts payable knowledge, process improvement, interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills * Demonstrated ability to work in an organized manner and manage time effectively and efficiently * Ability to prioritize workload, oversee attention to detail, perform self-review of work, and be comfortable working with limited oversight in specific processes * Experience with financials systems, including: Sage 50, other Sage products, other General Ledger systems, Electronic AP Routing & Approval Systems Preferred: * previous Dental industry experience  * familiarity with ADP and Payroll processes  We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace.
