Description

About the role We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in managing various aspects of our financial operations, including QuickBooks review, customer billing, accounts payable, payment processing, and annual 1099 filings. We are accepting applications from candidates that currently reside in the following areas: California: Bay Area only Daily/Weekly Tasks: Review and categorize new transactions in QuickBooks Set up new customer accounts and manage billing processes Enter bills for accounts payable and prepare AP approvals Handle disputes related to Stripe and Maxio Manage deactivations and send final invoices Send past-due reminders Answer client communications related to accounting matters Implement billing changes as necessary Conduct payment research and identify incoming payments Fulfill credit reference requests Review and approve employee expense reports Monthly Tasks: Set up scheduled payments for contractors Process referral payments. Assist with financial closing Calculate sales commissions Reconcile GL accounts Annual Tasks: Prepare and File 1099 forms Assist with various audits Assist with foreign VAT reporting Qualifications Strong customer service skills with clear communication abilities. Detail-oriented with a critical eye for accuracy Problem solving skills Analytical & Critical Thinking Ability to be self-sufficient in a remote work environment Highly skilled in QuickBooks Online (QBO), G Suite, Excel, Pivot tables, and Vlookup. Experience working at a Software as a Service (SaaS) company Strong knowledge of GAAP Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 3-5 years experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role Familiarity with various accounting software and platforms Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
