POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant main responsibilities include full-cycle accounting, data entry, preparing working papers, completing checklists, clients’ financial statements, tax returns and complying with clients’ statutory filing requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

· Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
· Experience working on compilation engagements
· Experience working on audit and review engagements under APSE, ASNPO and IFRS is preferred
· Advanced knowledge of relevant computer applications such as QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Simply Accounting, Word, Excel and CaseWare
· Knowledge of data management and financial data analysis
· Bachelor’s degree in business and/or related field is required
· CPA designation or working towards CPA certification
· Local area residency

Responsibilities

· Prepare year-end financial statements and related working papers
· Assist in planning and executing audit and review engagements for various clients
· Prepare corporate income tax, trusts, non-for-profit and other information returns and related schedules
· Reconcile and balance all accounts in accordance with established standards
· Prepare personal income tax returns and other information returns and schedules
· Collaborate with senior team members to ensure compliance and accuracy
