Description This role is ideal for someone with solid accounting knowledge who is excited to help improve workflows and efficiency through automation. We are seeking a motivated and qualified Staff Accountant with at least 3 years of progressive accounting experience to join our team located in Fairfax, VA. The ideal candidate will assist in day-to-day accounting operations and play a crucial support role, helping present accurate financial statements and reports to executive leadership and board members. This individual will report directly to the CFO and work closely with the Finance Accounting department to ensure that our financial operations run smoothly, efficiently, and continuously improve over time. Requirements Key Responsibilities: · Manage all aspects of accounts payable including verifying invoices, coding and timely payments · Prepare and record journal entries and assist with month end close · Assist with bank reconciliations · Daily revenue reconciliation · Support financial reporting and maintain General Ledger · Collaborate with other departments to facilitate the timely and accurate receipt of financial data · Support accounting and finance functions with special projects and tasks as needed Process Improvement & Efficiency · Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes and workflows · Analyze existing accounting processes to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce manual work through automation and standardization · Maintain SOPs and document accounting procedures · Partner with leadership to support system enhancements, ERP optimizations, and workflow improvements Education and Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education · Minimum 3 years of accounting experience · Experience working in a fast-paced or growth-oriented environment preferred Skills and Competencies: · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Excellent attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills · Ability to work independently and with team, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines · Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, Lookups, Power Query) · ERP experience required (Netsuite a plus) · Experience in a medical practice setting preferred but not necessary Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience and skills, with a comprehensive package including PTO, 401(k), health insurance, paid holidays and incentive opportunities.
