POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Staff Accountant you will be responsible for assisting the Controller with month-end close, General Ledger maintenance and reconciliations, bank account reconciliations, various audits, tax reporting, asset management, financial reporting and more. .

• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, SUMIF, SUMIFS, IF-THEN statements)
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Office suite
• Flexible and willing to take on additional tasks and projects
• Serve as right-hand to Controller for financial accuracy and reporting

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
• 5-7 years in general accounting or similar roles
• Full-time position; 8/9am-5pm work schedule
• Ability to meet deadlines
  This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the successful execution of commercial roofing projects while gaining valuable experience within the construction industry

• Assist with month-end close, daily operations, special projects, and assignments

• Maintain and reconcile daily bank accounts

• Manage daily Positive Pay
• Handle possible bank deposits
• Reconcile monthly credit card statements to GL
• Perform General Ledger reconciliations and maintenance
• Prepare and input journal entries
• Support financial reporting and detailed analysis
• Participate in annual financial audit and other audits
• Manage Fixed Asset & Lease records, including amortization and depreciation schedules
• Perform inventory reconciliations
• Provide payroll backup processing and reporting
• Audit payroll-related liabilities and expenses
• Complete various payroll reconciliations
• Reconcile health insurance accounts
• Assist with Sales Tax calculations and filings
