We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our New York studio.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience and skills in financial software applications and project management software
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with accounting principles (GAAP) is a plus
  • Positive attitude; responsive and proactive in communicating with clients, vendors, subconsultants and practice staff
  • Desire and initiative to grow through continuous training

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate/undergraduate degree (BA/BS) in finance, accounting or related preferred
  • Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and maintain strong attention to detail
  • Experience in a creative or professional services industry highly preferred

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

The focus of this position is to provide support to the North American Department of Finance projects, while working in line with our internal standards and controls.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform mid-level general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Ensure trade payables and receivables match to aged listing of balances
  • Work with Project Accountant to maintain reconciliation of project sub-consultant accounts
  • Manage vendors’ general inquiries pertaining to invoices
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and accruals
  • Assist with development of new internal financial processes and controls to better serve the business and ensure accuracy of data being reported
  • Respond to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits
  • Ad-hoc reporting and additional duties on as needed basis
