Description The Staff Accountant is responsible for creating timely and accurate financial statements, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and special financial projects. Duties & Responsibilities Reports directly to the Controller Interacts as required with other division office personnel and staff Prepare journal entries on a monthly basis. Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis. Process non accounts receivable cash receipts. Process refunds. Provide a wide variety of customer service for Customer and field locations. Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions. Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting 0 - 5 years of previous Accounting experience Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments Ability to use a computer and possess an understanding of computer software including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook Excellent time management skills and ability to work on many different projects at one time Ability work independently and without direct supervision Understand the importance of following standardized procedures Maintain professional appearance Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles Possess an organized and disciplined personality A positive attitude who can take direction Ability to work under tight deadlines Willingness to "go the extra mile" to achieve division sales goals and objectives Preferred Qualifications Good understanding of basic accounting principles Physical Demands Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently and frequently moving small objects.
