Description If you are looking for a great place to work, and reach your potential, look toPeoples Security Bank & Trust.We continue to grow and are always looking for the right people to join our team.#TeamPSBT Our Staff Accountant II's are responsible for performing various duties relating to the institution’s accounting system, including all aspects of the accounting function (general ledger, account reconciliations, financial analysis, accounts payable, credit, etc.); achieving goals as established in the Finance Division’s annual operating plan; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the finance function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports. Essential Duties: Prepares and submits FDIC financial reporting statements. Assists in preparation of SEC financial reporting. Prepares and submits bank holding company statements. Reconciles correspondent bank statements. Calculates Bank Position with relation to buying/selling Federal Funds Sold. Prepares weekly required reports submitted to various reporting agencies. Balances general ledger accounts daily, as well as monthly reconciliations when necessary. Performs daily operations, such as accounts payable and fixed assets, within the Finance Division as needed. Assist with information gathering for audits and annual regulatory examination. Performs other duties as required. Acts as back up for other areas within the department as needed. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information. Skill(s): Must demonstrate strong communication skills; proficient interpersonal relations skills; proficient PC skills; general accounting knowledge and abilities. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a financial setting normally required.
