Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements and other related reporting requirements. Will assist management with accruals, reclassifications, and various journal entry postings.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Reconcile intercompany account balances.
  • Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports for management review and analysis.
  • Routinely interact with community operations personnel via telephone.
  • Responsible for Accounts Payable process (set up new vendors, review community A/P batches for correct data input, process weekly check runs, maintain invoice files, prepare annual 1099s)
  • Manage tax, mortgage, rent, and lease payment process, as necessary.
  • Support Corporate Billing Specialist, as needed.
  • Perform special projects and reporting, as necessary.
  • Maintain integrity and professionalism of corporate office.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
  • Communicate with management on any issues hindering effectiveness and efficiency of policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting (or a related field) from an accredited university preferred.
  • 1-2 years of general ledger accounting experience, including monthly close responsibilities preferred.
  • Experience working in multi-layered organization, coordinating with other accounting positions is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access-based financial modeling and analysis.
  • Organized and detail oriented with an ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work with a diverse set of management styles and personalities.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
