This role will support various processes within the Accounting & Finance department, including month-end closing and daily financial operations. Reporting to the Supervising Senior Accountant, the Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy and efficiency.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and proactive in driving process improvements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Deltek VantagePoint and QuickBooks.
  • Background in a professional services, SaaS, or software company.
  • Experience handling foreign currency and interoffice transactions.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with the senior accountant to ensure day-to-day accounting objectives are achieved. Develop accounting processes to gain efficiency and effectiveness
  • Monitors, timely responds, organizes and clears the accounting inbox
  • Accounts payable and corporate credit card expenditures
  • Interoffice and foreign exchange transaction processing
  • Sales and use tax
  • Fixed assets
  • Accounts receivable, cash and payroll tasks
  • Revenue recognition
  • Daily cash reconciliation and postings
  • Payroll accounting entries
  • Prepare account reconciliations (i.e. cash, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts)
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Participate, Support and develop month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses and analytical summaries
  • Assist in transaction processing and preparing monthly financial statements for both the Minneapolis office and the parent company
  • Document and monitor accounting policies
  • Implement appropriate internal controls
  • Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, company procedures and standard operating procedures to minimize risk
  • Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve accounting issues
  • Maintain a professional, cooperative, and positive working relationship with colleagues
  • Assist with special accounting and finance projects
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through ad hoc projects
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the accounting and finance department
  • Organize and file accounting documentation, ensuring compliance with record retention policies
