QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience; SaaS or software industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience with invoicing, renewals, payroll processing, GST/HST filings, and annual returns is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or NetSuite) is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Staff Accountant at Limelight, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational accounting, and assisting with monthly close and reporting. This position is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative tech environment and is eager to grow alongside a scaling company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform daily accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and expense tracking.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee invoicing for customers and manage renewals in coordination with the customer success and sales teams.
  • Process and reconcile payroll on a scheduled basis.
  • Prepare and file GST/HST remittances and ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations.
  • Assist with preparation and filing of the company’s annual return.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies and controls.
  • Provide documentation and support during audits.
  • Contribute to process improvements and special finance projects.
