The salary for this position is $75,000 – $85,000 annually.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant with at least 3 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the accounting and financial operations of our manufacturing organization. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller and other accounting staff to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and to support the achievement of the organization’s financial goals.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounts.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, including analyzing variances between actual and budgeted amounts.
- Assist with audits, including providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Engineering, and Sales, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed
- Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure tracking
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with internal and external audits
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and corporate accounting policies
- Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and engineering to ensure financial accuracy and cost control

Position Requirements:

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP,) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting with three to five years experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, customers, and the general public.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; ADP Payroll, FAS Fixed Asset Software, Great Plains Accounting System, and MRP System experience.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve potential problems. Ability to apply accounting workflow to the position.
  • Understand and utilize Generally Accepting Accounting Principles in regard to Fixed Assets, General Ledger, and Financial Statement Presentation.
