Description Reports To: Controller GENERAL SUMMARY The Staff Accountant is responsible for reviewing and processing various types of financial transactions, preparing numerous reports, promptly entering invoices and issuing payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate vendor records. This position also provides financial, administrative, and clerical support to the Controller. The individual will be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to multi-task and ensure accuracy with transactions while working independently. The position must maintain utmost confidentiality and professionalism in dealing with stockholders, management, team members, and vendors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Efficiently and accurately enter invoices as they are received Prepare expense checks and transmit payments as needed Ensure accuracy of payments posted to the general ledger Set-up fixed assets and balance to GL monthly Set-up prepaids and accruals and balance to GL monthly Update the Financial Report daily Track Correspondent Bank balances and transfer funds as needed Post Correspondent Bank service charges, wires transfers, security payments, and dividends to GL Prepare monthly Board and Marketing reports Review purchasing card expenses, create expense file and post to GL monthly Balance and expense Bank & Business purchases each month Assist with set-up and maintenance of investment securities Monitor public funds balances and assist with pledging and releasing securities Assist with stock purchases, sales and quarterly stockholder distributions Report and pay Excise Use tax, Franchise taxes, and Personal & Real Estate taxes Maintain vehicle assessments Send out yearly fixed asset inventory verification to branches Review and pay yearly Business License Help with insurance claims and renewals Prepare and report yearly personal property tax rendition Review and prepare AP 1099 file at year end Back-up Controller when absent Perform any other duties as assigned by management TEAM EXPECTATIONS Champion the MNB mission statement with pride and enthusiasm Perform all aspects of your position with a leadership mentality Maintain a high-level of cooperation and rapport among team members to ensure accuracy and efficient operations and service Formulate and communicate fresh ideas to improve profitability and provide efficiency in overall bank operations Exhibit professionalism at all times ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
