The Staff Accountants primary responsibilities involve processing (prepare & review) various general accounting functions, including General Ledger JEs, Account Reconciliations, Fixed Assets, EOM Closings, backup payroll processing, assisting with management reporting, as well as allocating expenses. A desired candidate has accounting experience, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently with little supervision, and is detail oriented. Responsibilities Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and allocations Maintain fixed asset database Reconcile balance sheet accounts and accruals on a monthly basis Prepare schedules and other requests related to financial statements Monitor expenses for reasonableness and allocate, if needed Serve as primary back-up for payroll Create, revise, and review policies and internal controls Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, as assigned Perform other related duties as assigned or required Requirements 4+ years directly related experience Bachelor of Science in Accounting or higher Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications Able to work Monday – Friday, between the hours of 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles Extensive experience with month end closing process Able to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgements Able to perform complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects Able to provide technical advice and information to internal customers Able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure Able to work independently and set priorities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Organizational and coordinating skills Records maintenance skills Database management skills Information research skills Preferred Experience in for-profit accounting Experience in medium sized, family-owned company Experience with Sage Fixed Assets Experience working in ProfitZoom Benefits Medical Dental Vision Paid Time Off Paid Holidays 401(k) matching
