OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant/Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with expertise in various accounting software and financial reporting and has hands-on full cycle in-house payroll experience using an ERP system. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis of acccounts.

  • Manages and reviews hours in timeclock system.
  • Prepares bi-weekly payroll checks using integrated payroll system module within ERP system.
  • Prepares and submit bi-weekly payroll tax deposits.
  • Tracks employee PTO balances and garnishments.
  • Prepares and files quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
  • Reconciles bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Conduct account reconciliations, including balance sheet and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Enters cash receipts in ERP system.
  • Experienced in onboarding and exit interviews and manages employee personnel file.
  • Conducts annual open enrollment for health insurance elections.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights into cash flow analysis.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
  • Utilize ERP fully integrated accounting software such as Sage, MS Dynamics, STORM or Springbrook for efficient financial management.
  • Prepares monthly Treasurer’s Report and Personnel Summary for board meetings.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for advanced data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts including accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, and corporate finance.
  • Experience with public accounting, non-profit accounting, or governmental accounting is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment with good communication skills.

    Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
