Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Staff Accountant, Revenue Recognition will perform a wide variety of accounting functions requiring understanding and application of fundamental accounting principles and practices, with a strong focus on Revenue Accounting and ASC 606 compliance. This role combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and general ledger activity. Duties include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
• 4-5+ years of accounting experience, specifically with Revenue Recognition
• Experience working in a Professional Services environment
• Deep understanding of revenue accounting principles, including performance obligations, variable consideration, and contract costs
• Experience reviewing and analyzing customer contracts
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• Experience in software related industry a plus
• Able to work in a faced paced environment and able to multi-task
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Intacct, or NetSuite).
• Detail and deadline-oriented
• Good communication and listening skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables knowledge and Expertise
  The compensation range for this position is $35-$47/hr. • Review and interpret customer contracts and sales agreements to ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 guidelines
• Ensuring the accurate and timely recognition of revenue in accordance with ASC 606 for the company
• Identify performance obligations, transaction prices, and contract costs in customer agreements
• Analyze variable consideration (e.g., discounts, rebates, or penalties) and determine impact on revenue recognition
• Monitor and track deferred revenue, ensuring proper allocation and revenue recognition over the subscription or contract period
• Maintain detailed records of revenue recognition schedules, journal entries, and other accounting documentation
• Completes the monthly general ledger closing process via preparation of accounting journal entries, performing analysis of accounts and accruals, and posting journal entries into the system
• Processes payroll for review by VP of Finance
• Processes accounts payable vendor onboarding, invoice entry and payments
• Processes accounts receivable cash receipts and assists in collections
• Prepares monthly reconciliations for assigned accounts including research and preparing any correcting entries for approval and posting
• Prepares cash projections and other treasury functions
• Assists in preparation for yearly audit
• Prepares monthly financial reporting package for internal and external use
• Prepares budget to actual financial reports for senior management
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records
• Maintains accounting records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Performs ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned
