We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Allegan, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for managing key financial processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting monthly and annual financial reporting. • Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes to maintain accurate financial records.
• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure account balances align with financial statements.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded promptly and correctly.
• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the regular accounting cycle.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, ensuring all deadlines are met and reports are accurate.
• Utilize SAP and other financial systems to manage accounting tasks and generate reports.
• Monitor job costing to ensure project expenses are accurately tracked and allocated.
• Support audits by providing requested documentation and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in SAP or similar financial software.
• Strong understanding of bank reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
