PLACEMENT OVERVIEW

· Supervisor: Controller, Kids Empire
· Location: Open to remote (Eastern Time Zone); Atlanta, GA preferred with long-term vision of building ATL Accounting hub w/ 2 days in office/co-working space

REQUESTED EXPERIENCE/PROFILE

· Level/Title: “Staff Accountant”, “Senior Accountant”, “Accountant”, “Controller”, “Asst Controller”
· Prior roles: Accounting (Finance experience is not relevant)
· Industry: No requirements, but leisure / hospitality / location-based entertainment is highly preferred (restaurant, hotel, movie theaters, etc)
· Scale: Has worked with multi-unit business with 25+ locations/entities or similar
· Scope: See below
· Systems: Preference for Sage Intacct, but equivalent is nice to have (Eg, NetSuite)
· Certifications: CPA or pursuing is nice to have but not required
· Years experience: 2+ years preferred
Kids Empire, a PE-backed portfolio company, is pursuing an aggressive growth strategy and is seeking a skilled Accountant to join its team as it transforms and builds its accounting processes to meet all stakeholder requirements (equity, debt, management).
The role will have primary day to day and EOM responsibility for assigned aspects of the Accounting Operations which happen in the lifecycle of a Kids Empire park ‘after’ it has officially opened. This role will collaborate with the other accounting team members who have responsibility for the Park’s Accounting Lifecycle from design all the way to Park Opening.
The ideal candidate will understand accrual-based accounting, have experience with weekly cash disbursements and end of month accounting close on an ERP system (preferably SageIntacct) in a large multi-site environment, and ability to prepare monthly ledger account reconciliations and workpapers.
Responsibilities include:
· Lead month-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement review across key accounting areas.
· Oversee twice a week cash disbursements to ensure timely and accurate payments.
· Manage all assigned data integrations between Sage Intacct and supporting platforms, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data flows.
· Ensure strict adherence to established accounting processes and internal policies; identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to the development and documentation of accounting standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Supervise the Accounts Payable Clerk, providing guidance, support, and performance oversight to ensure effective and efficient AP operations.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
