We are seeking a Staff Accountant with a strong desire to grow professionally to join our Finance team. This position plays a critical role in our accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance with regulations, and supporting the organization’s financial sustainability. You’ll have a unique opportunity to work closely with the executive team as part of a roll-out and implementation of new processes and systems.
Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant include general ledger entries, grant reporting, reconciliations of general ledger accounts, bank, and investment statements, tracking of agency cash flow, fixed asset and capital lease management, preparation and review of monthly and year-end financial statements, and annual audit. The Staff Accountant also collaborates closely with billing team on accounts receivable and revenue recognition matters and supports accounts payable and payroll staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of accounting functions.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting, including monthly and annual statements in accordance with

GAAP for health care entities.

  • Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP.
  • Support internal and external audits and assist with annual budget development.
  • Prepare and submit monthly grant reports.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, particularly within NetSuite.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting support to the CFO and executive team.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and organizational policies and standards.
  • Collaborate on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
