Ultimately, Stronghold intends to apply its technology-intensive investment approach to a variety of specialist real assets verticals, including: Oil & Gas Renewables Specialty Real Estate (commercial, datacenters, marinas) Telecommunications and Technology Infrastructure Billboards and Fixtures Mining & other commodities Utilities Secondaries Location: Bengaluru, India Work Type: Full-time | On-site (5 days a week) Reporting To: Manager/ Senior Manager Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support Stronghold’s corporate accounting operations across our multi-fund structure. This role is critical to our investment vehicles and the underlying portfolio of non-operated oil & gas assets. The Staff Accountant will report to Manager/Senior Manager and this Individual will be responsible for day to day accounting, monthly and quarterly close activities and owning key financial reporting deliverables. The ideal candidate brings strong foundational accounting knowledge, proven experience in private equity or multi-entity investment accounting, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset suited for a dynamic and growing organization. Primary Responsibilities Oil and Gas Accounting • Accurately track, record, and reconcile incoming royalty checks, revenue payments, and lease operating statements from third-party operators. • Process and record monthly Joint Interest Billing statements from external operators, ensuring expenses are monitored for the Firm’s non-operated working interests. • Review and maintain AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) tracking and capitalization of new well development costs. • Prepare and record monthly closing journal entries, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations. Fund & Corporate Accounting • Prepare and maintain accurate books of accounts using the ERP software. • Record day-to-day accounting including journal entries, invoice processing, payment accounting, AR/AP management, and expense recording • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. • Monitor the accounts payable processes, including invoice recording, tracking, payment scheduling, and coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders for timely processing. • Conduct periodic vendor and other GL reconciliations. • Prepare MIS reports such as expenditure reports, ageing reports, cash flow summaries, budget vs. actual analysis. • Prepare schedules and documentation for statutory & internal audits. • Oversee and maintain partner capital account statements, process investor distributions, and prepare investor reporting packages. • Assist with cash flow tracking, distribution reconciliations, and treasury coordination as needed. Taxation & Statutory Compliance • Prepare and file GST returns and prepare GST reconciliations. • Ensure compliance with TDS deductions, payments, and filing of TDS returns. • Prepare and support SOFTEX filings for export of services. • Assist with PF, ESI, PT and other statutory filings. • Knowledge of US taxation and statutory compliance will be an added advantage. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (B.Com / M.Com / CA-Semi Qualified or CA-Inter preferred). • At least 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience. • Specific experience with oil & gas accounting, private equity, or multi-entity fund structures is highly preferred. • Strong understanding of US GAAP, India Statutory compliance and monthly close processes. • Proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables and advanced formulas); experience with major ERP or fund accounting systems is preferred. • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and accountability. • Ambition to grow and excel in a high-performance environment, taking on increasing responsibility over time.
