About This Position The Staff Accountant will support the Finance Department by preparing and analyzing financial reports, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and assisting with month-end close activities. This role will also be responsible for multi-state sales and use tax reporting, including return preparation, filing, and remittance. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes Assist with general ledger account reconciliation, bank statements, and subsidiary ledgers Assist with various state sales tax filing and reporting. Analyze financial data to identify variances & trends Maintain fixed asset schedules Ensure timely filing of sales tax returns and other compliance reporting with local/state/federal taxing authorities. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information What You'll Need Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or CPA eligibility preferred. 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a multi-entity or multi-state environment. Strong understanding of GAAP, sales and use tax compliance, and account reconciliation. Experience preparing and filing multi-state sales and use tax returns and remittances. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Acumatica or similar ERP systems preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in written and spoken English.
