JOB DESCRIPTION

Well-established law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join the team. This is a critical role within the finance department, offering the opportunity to work closely with both operations and leadership teams in a collaborative office environment.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial reporting and accounting functions in QuickBooks, ensuring accurate and timely entry of financial data. This role requires close coordination with the Operations Accountants, supporting journal entries, documentation, and compliance efforts for IRS and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain financial records using QuickBooks.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Accountant to record journal entries and ensure proper documentation for IRS and audit compliance.
  • Serve as a backup to the Operations Accountant when needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, payroll processing, cash reconciliations and accounts payable.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain organized records of financial transactions and supporting documents.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the accounting function.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment & Interviews:

  • This position is fully in-office, with some flexibility as needed.
