SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 to 3 years accounting experience
  • Enrollment in the CPA program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Caseware, Taxprep (or similar tax program), Sage and/or Quickbooks will be an asset however not required
  • Highly-organized, with a strong attention to detail, able to think critically and prioritize.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

As a Staff Accountant at Vantage Point, you will work collaboratively with the Firm’s engagement teams to provide exceptional service to our clients and contribute to the firm’s overall overall success.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements for clients in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Prepare corporate tax returns, individual income tax returns, GST/HST filings, and other tax documents.
  • Provide assistance to clients regarding accounting queries, financial performance, and business advisory needs.
  • Maintain proper documentation of client files, ensuring that workpapers, tax returns, and financial statements are complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior accountants, managers, and partners to ensure that client needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
