For more information, visit www.vikendetection.com We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant Level I to join our growing finance team. This entry-level position is ideal for a recent graduate or an individual with foundational accounting experience who is eager to develop their skills in a dynamic environment. The Staff Accountant Level I will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsible for A/P invoice processing, including matching them to purchase orders, verifying pricing and quantities, ensuring proper approvals, as well as investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies Responsible for A/R invoice processing, including recording incoming payments, applying them to corresponding customer accounts, managing electronic remittances Responsible for recording A/P and A/R invoices details into QuickBooks as well as maintaining proper documentation Prepare A/P payment batches, including checks or electronic transfers Maintain vendor records, including contact information and payment terms Assist with quarterly and month-end closing, including performing account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, record keeping, and other financial closing related tasks Provide support for internal and external audit requests timely and effectively. Maintain confidentiality and security of all data, records, files, etc. Address ad hoc requests as assigned Assisting in Travel & Expense (T&E) compliance. Playing a key role in ERP and systematic upgrades and/or efficiency initiatives. Exercising integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting, and complying with federal, state, and local financial requirements. Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Skills: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas) is essential. Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is highly preferred. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. High level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information. Experience: 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience, which may include internships or entry-level accounting roles.
