QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience required; lease/rental industry experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft products including Word, Excel and SharePoint
  • Experience in the transportation, leasing, or asset-heavy industry is a plus
  • Experience with Procede software a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with increasing levels of difficulty.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with a focus on customer service

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting functions of the Company. This individual will be responsible for general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and certain components of the month-end close process. This individual will work closely with operations, billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable teams to maintain a strong internal control environment and contribute to the financial success of the business. The ideal candidate has experience in accounting within the transportation, rental, or leasing industry, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Perform monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Record intercompany entries and reconcile intercompany accounts.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis to support decision making.
  • Support accounting for fixed assets (acquisition through disposal), including recording/amortization of debt notes and monthly depreciation
  • Assist in the calculation of semi-annual CPI adjustments for lease customers. Ensure new rates are entered into the system timely and accurately. Coordinate communication of new rates to customers.
  • Collaborate with the billing and A/R and A/P teams to ensure accurate revenue and expense recognition.
  • Maintain documentation for audits to ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Participate in the implementation and improvement of accounting processes and systems.
  • Provide support to the FP&A team for budgeting and forecasting processes.
