Job Title:        Staff Accountant Company:       Watson Companies Location:        Bend, OR (Onsite) Career Area:   Accounting / Finance Education:     Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.   Experience:   Minimum of four years of progressive, relevant accounting experience required.  Experience in real estate accounting is strongly desired.    Travel:           5% annually within local and regional areas. ---------------------------------------- How You Will Contribute: The Staff Accountant is responsible for working collaboratively across the company to ensure the timely and accurate issuance of financial reports. This position manages accounting activities for multiple entities, oversees accounts payable and receivable functions, and provides general administrative support to maintain efficient office operations.  Responsibilities Include: •    Financial Reporting and Accounting – Manages monthly accounting in QuickBooks for multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial records and preparing the Companies' general ledgers for month-end close, including: * Accounts payable and Accounts Receivable * Reconciliation and Month-End Close * Financial Reporting and Record Management  •    Annual and Quarterly Duties – Collaborates with the accounting team to complete the Companies’ recurring annual and quarterly financial projects, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and accurate financial documentation. This includes: * Preparing financial statements * Processing 1099’s * Providing tax accounting support •    General Administration – Supports the entire office with overseeing administrative duties to ensure the facility is operating smoothly through: * Managing internal company documents and new entity set up * Managing incoming mail * Keeping inventory of office supplies •    Other Duties as assigned. Your strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail will be essential in tracking multiple entities, setting up vendor files, and ensuring compliance with requirements. Flexibility and adaptability will be crucial as you pivot between multiple projects seamlessly. Your technical accounting knowledge will support informed decision-making, while your ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders will foster strong professional relationships. Handling sensitive financial information with discretion, you will uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity in all business operations.
