Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the business, maintaining accurate and timely financial records, and supporting internal compliance and reporting needs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll support, and financial reporting, along with strong proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets. Key Responsibilities: Financial Record Management: Record and categorize financial transactions using accounting software (e.g., AIM Accounting, Concur). Maintain general ledger accuracy by tracking and posting routine financial entries. Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis. Maintain consistent, organized, and audit-ready financial records. Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable: Process invoices and track payments to vendors and suppliers. Monitor accounts receivable and apply incoming payments. Generate ageing reports and follow up on overdue accounts. Ensure timely payments and resolve vendor or customer inquiries. Payroll Support: Assist with payroll data entry and support the preparation of payroll cycles. Coordinate with payroll providers to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Track payroll-related transactions and ensure compliance with relevant tax filings. Financial Reporting: Generate standard financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for management review. Assist in maintaining supporting documentation for monthly and quarterly reporting requirements. Compliance & Tax Support: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations (e.g., sales tax, payroll tax). Assist in the preparation of records for audits and tax filings. Support the organization in maintaining best practices for financial compliance. Software & Tools: Use accounting software and tools (e.g., AIM Accounting, Excel) to record, track, and report financial information. Develop and maintain organized digital files for all financial documents. General Administrative Support: Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial records or reports. Assist with administrative accounting functions such as scanning, filing, and document management. Support other accounting and finance tasks as needed. Requirements Qualifications: Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred). Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related roles. Software Proficiency: Microsoft Excel (formulas, sorting, filtering, pivot tables a plus). Familiarity with payroll systems and reporting tools is a bonus Key Competencies: High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organization and time management skills.
