Description
About This Role: We make big decisions across our product, GTM, and operation organizations—but our data foundation needs a dedicated owner to drive our decision-making processes. You’ll be the first person to connect product usage → revenue → outcomes into a single, trusted source of truth and to enable teams to self-serve with confidence. Key Responsibilities: The Staff Analytics Engineer is a critical role in our organization. The key responsibilities are: Own the data loop end-to-end: instrument key events, build clean models, define a single metrics layer (one source of truth), and enable self-serve BI. Own KPI definitions in partnership with BizOps/RevOps/Finance. Translate business logic into well-tested, production-grade SQL and data models that power canonical metrics (e.g., activation, TTFV, ARR/NRR, funnels, cohorts), with automated testing and clear documentation. Prioritize the questions that move the business; partner closely with Engineering, Product, BizOps, and Finance. Right-size the stack and standards: we use Redshift and Metabase today, and you will shape where we go next (warehouse, event capture, orchestration). Build lightweight governance aligned with SOC 2 and our ISO 27001 ambitions (tests, access controls, PII hygiene). What success looks like (in your first 90 days): A simple, trusted KPI set used in exec/board updates. A documented tracking plan and daily-fresh core models behind our most important dashboards. RevOps, Sales, and Product teams can self-serve answers to common questions using trusted, pre-built data models. Skill Set: These are the primary skills we’re looking for to drive success in this role. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics or related field preferred; high school diploma required Ability to be in our Austin office a minimum of one day a week- this is a highly collaborative role and will require some in-person alignment 5-8+ years of relevant experience, with a proven track record of building 0→1 data foundations (ideally at a B2B SaaS company). Excellent SQL; modern modeling (e.g., dbt or equivalent) and Python for pipelines/orchestration. Deep experience designing and implementing reliable event schemas for product analytics. Strong communication and ownership; you have a strong bias for clarity, reliability and practicality. Nice-to-haves: Redshift/BigQuery/Snowflake; Salesforce/HubSpot familiarity; Git/CI for data; data quality/observability tooling; construction/AEC domain context. Benefits & Perks: Whether it’s Wednesday lunch in our offices, company-wide offsites or quarterly volunteering opportunities, we are always looking for ways to keep our employees happy and engaged with their teammates, whether your work schedule is hybrid or fully remote. Our benefits include: World class medical, dental, and vision benefits Participation in the employee stock option program Flexible Time Off Policy Ability to participate in our 401k Company paid Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and Life Insurance Paid Parental Leave Monthly technical allowance Getting in close to the ground floor of an incredibly high-growth business Substantial internal growth opportunities and emphasis on personal & professional development We value diversity, equity, and inclusion in everything we do. It is our policy to provide equal opportunity to all people without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, marital status, veteran status, age, disability, pregnancy, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other legally protected category.
