EVDD Physical Apps Engineering is looking for an experienced embedded software engineer. In this role you will be responsible for the development of automotive software solutions and embedded software modules for vehicles developed by Ford. What you'll do... Lead the architectural design of complex embedded software solutions, bridging the gap between hardware, low-level software, and high-level applications. Architect and implement scalable software modules across diverse ecosystems including Embedded Linux, Android, and Cloud-connected platforms. Drive the strategy and execution of high-performance Embedded Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), ensuring seamless interaction between backend logic and visual elements. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the definition of objectives, scopes, timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Develop automatic validation strategies, ensure proper code coverage, and validate new software modules on prototyping vehicle platforms. Act as a technical bridge, coordinating with system owners on planning, implementation approaches, and maintaining software solutions. Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field, or a combination of education and equivalent experience. 5+ years of professional software development experience. Proven experience in software architecture, including design patterns, system modeling, and interface definition. Demonstrated cross-domain experience spanning at least two of the following areas: Android (AOSP/HAL), Embedded Linux, GUI development (Qt/Android Views), or Cloud integration (AWS/Azure/GCP). Expert-level programming experience in Kotlin and C or C++. Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting of embedded systems. Experience with asynchronous IP communication. Familiarity with continuous development (CI/CD) and modern software development processes. Strong documentation, writing, and communication skills. Even better, you may have... Deep understanding of Android framework layers and HAL integration. Experience in developing video streaming solutions, including: Video streaming protocols such as RTP, RTSP. Video encoding/compression such as H.264, H.265. Experience in automotive software engineering.
