QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of architectural experience, including design coordination and construction administration.
Licensing: Licensed Architect preferred; will consider unlicensed candidates with relevant experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural design software.
Strong knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and sustainable design practices.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Experience working on healthcare or federal government facilities.
Familiarity with VA design standards and federal contracting processes.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Staff Architect to join our team at SIRIS to support design and construction projects at Montgomery VA Medical Center in Montgomery, Alabama. This role will work closely with the Program Director, design teams, engineers, and client representatives to provide architectural oversight, technical guidance, and quality assurance throughout the design and construction phases.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide architectural review of design documents to ensure compliance with client requirements, building codes, and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines to integrate architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to verify construction aligns with design intent, approved plans, and specifications.
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs for architectural compliance.
  • Assist in managing project schedules and budgets from design through closeout.
  • Participate in project meetings to address design-related issues and propose solutions.
  • Ensure ADA compliance, sustainable design integration, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Maintain thorough project records, including meeting minutes, inspection reports, and design revisions.
