ABOUT YOU We are hiring a highly motivated individual to join the Allied Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC) as Staff Assistant (Budget), NATO Grade 10. As part of this position, you will support the Staff Officer Budget by collecting and analyzing HQ requirements and ensuring timely execution of authorized payments. Beyond administrative support to the Budget Branch, you will contribute directly to the smooth operation of the entire budgetary process. If this resonates with you, apply here: NATO - NATO Vacancies YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate must have Higher Secondary education and intermediate vocational training in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, public administration or related discipline which might lead to a formal qualification with 2 years experience, or Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience. Profound professional experience in a support function, in particular budget screening and approval processes, budget preparation and budget analysis efforts; Working knowledge of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) systems; A good command of English both written and spoken. The following would be considered as an advantage: Experience as Budget Assistant in NATO or other international or national organization; Experience with the NATO Automated Financial System (FinS) and/or Oracle Financials; Demonstrable experience in financial analysis and statistics; Experience in analysing financial data for military missions; Experience in operating automated accounting system(s); Any further training relevant to the job (e.g. Resource Management, Orientation Course). YOUR ROLE Support the Staff Officer Budget during the screening/approval process of the HQ budget estimates; Assist in the preparation of the regular Budget Execution Report (BER); Execute authorised payments on behalf of JSEC and records receipt of incoming funds as well as budget transfers; Execute budget analysis, monitors the financial execution of expenditures and generates statistics and budget execution data; Create regular management information reports and analyses related to disbursing, including cash flow data; Compiles financial data analyses resulting from submitted requirements; Maintain a payment archive; Assist with drafting official letters for signature; Assist Divisional/Directorate Fund Managers in their assigned tasks and acts as Fund Manager as requested; Coordinate tasks and maintain the schedule of workflow and appointments within the Budget Branch. YOUR TEAM Headquarters JSEC provides a resilient operational-level Joint Headquarters, capable of supporting 24/7 operations to coordinate enablement (at the operational level) and, on order, the execution of reinforcement by forces (RbyFo) and sustainment flow in order to contribute to the Alliance's ability to project and sustain combat power into a Joint Operations Area (JOA). The Finance Directorate (J8) is responsible for drafting, managing and executing the HQ allocated budgets as well as accounting, purchasing and contracting goods and services. CONTRACT Serving civilian members of NATO will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations.
