STAFF AUDITOR AT CPA FIRM FOR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

JOB DESCRIPTION

Altruic Advisors is seeking a Staff Auditor. This is a hybrid remote/in-person position. Your working hours will typically be split between your home office and our collaborative firm office, with occasional travel to clients.

As a Staff Auditor, you will:

  • Participate in audit, review and compilation engagements from planning through issuance
  • Perform audit testing procedures relevant to risk, test objectives
  • Perform walkthroughs of client controls
  • Develop the ability to audit areas such as cash, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, accounts payable, deferred revenue, other liabilities, payroll
  • Complete audit programs
  • Obtain and review evidence ensuring audit conclusions are well-documented
  • Prepare Form 990 returns for clients
  • Perform self-review of all work prior to review by the supervisor
  • Ensure adherence at all times to firm and professional standards

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA license or eligibility to sit for CPA exam
  • One year of recent audit or accounting experience
  • Experience with nonprofit auditing and/or accounting is desirable but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage goals through collaboration and teamwork
  • Familiarity with audit engagement software (Caseware, Suralink) or a willingness to learn
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
