Description
The Staff Data Analyst - Clinical & Population Health is responsible for serving as a hands-on analytics expert focused on generating actionable insights from healthcare patient population data. This individual will work directly with complex clinical and pharmaceutical datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and clearly communicate findings to senior leadership and support sales-related analytical inquiries. Key Responsibilities: Lead large-scale, complex data analysis projects and develop strategic insights to address key business challenges. Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to define a data strategy and priority. Population & Clinical Analytics Perform hands-on analysis of patient population data to uncover clinical, utilization, outcomes, and performance insights Work with healthcare and pharmaceutical datasets (e.g., claims, EHR, registries, real-world data) to assess population-level trends Apply clinical context and healthcare standards to ensure analyses are accurate, relevant, and meaningful Validate data quality, assumptions, and methodologies to ensure confidence in analytical outputs Insight Delivery & Leadership Communication Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise insights for senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders Create executive-ready summaries, visualizations, and presentations that support strategic and operational decision-making Develop analytical approaches to address ambiguous or evolving questions, particularly in emerging-market contexts Commercial Support Partner with Sales, Commercial, and Customer-facing teams to support data-driven customer inquiries and opportunities Produce tailored analyses and insights to help answer prospect and customer questions related to patient populations, outcomes, or clinical trends Help ensure analytical outputs are accurate, defensible, and appropriately positioned for external-facing discussions Act as a trusted analytics subject-matter expert in support of pre-sales and post-sales engagements (as needed) Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience 8-12 years of relevant work experience in healthcare, life sciences, or pharmaceutical analytics. Strong domain knowledge of pharmaceutical and clinical healthcare environments Demonstrated experience working with patient-level or population-level healthcare data Solid understanding of clinical healthcare standards and data structures (e.g., EHR concepts, care pathways, outcomes measurement; familiarity with HL7, FHIR, CDISC is a plus) Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying and transforming large healthcare datasets Experience supporting sales, commercial, or customer-facing analytics inquiries Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with real-world evidence (RWE) or observational healthcare data Familiarity with emerging or developing healthcare markets and data environments Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, health informatics, data science, or life sciences) Experience creating clear, accurate data visualizations and analytical summaries (e.g., using Tableau, Power BI, Python/R visualization libraries, or similar tools) Experience using Python and/or R for data analysis, statistical analysis, and data manipulation Job Expectations: Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time #LI-TC1 #LI-Remote WellSky is where independent thinking and collaboration come together to create an authentic culture.
