Job Duties and Responsibilities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or similar technical field
  • 6-8 years experience with:
  • Advanced SQL and querying large datasets within data warehouse platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, and Postgres
  • ETL/ELT workflows and data pipeline orchestration for managing data warehouses and data lakes
  • Operational domains such as commissions, finance, or sales operations
  • Demonstrated experience with Data Warehouse design, development, and maintenance
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling within a data warehouse environment

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of relational and non-relational data models; ability to interpret and explain data flows across systems
  • Familiarity with Control-M and/or Autosys or other enterprise workload automation tools
  • Understanding of data governance, lineage, or cataloging best practices
  • Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau for exploring and validating data
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases like MongoDB and an understanding of their role in modern data ecosystems, including data lake integration
  • Clear and concise communication skills—especially when bridging the gap between business logic and technical implementation
  • Comfortable working as part of an Agile development team and collaborating across disciplines

Responsibilities
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document data requirements for automated processes, with a strong focus on data warehousing principles
  • Collaborate with data engineers to build and validate data marts, scheduled reports, and system outputs, ensuring adherence to data warehousing best practices
  • Assist in defining data logic and transformation rules that support downstream systems and operational workflows
  • Help with QA, testing, and validation of data flows to ensure high accuracy and reliability, particularly for data warehouse and data mart solutions
  • Maintain clear documentation of data definitions, transformation logic, and system dependencies, including data models for data warehouses and data marts
  • Look for opportunities to streamline manual data tasks through automation or self-service tools
