Job Title: Staff Data Engineer Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore Business & Team: Join our innovative Data Engineering team within the Technology division at CommBank. Our team is dedicated to building and optimizing scalable data infrastructure that supports the bank's data-driven initiatives. We work closely with data scientists, analysts, and various business units to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and secure. Impact & Contribution: As a Staff Data Engineer, you will be a key player in advancing our data capabilities and driving the bank's data strategy. Your expertise will enable the development of robust data solutions that empower teams across the organization to make informed decisions. By leading complex data engineering projects, you will contribute to enhancing the financial wellbeing of our customers and supporting the bank's mission. Roles & Responsibilities: · Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration and analytics. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions. · Implement and enforce data quality and governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security. · Optimize data processing workflows for performance, scalability, and efficiency. · Develop and maintain comprehensive data models, schemas, and documentation to support data accessibility and usability. · Stay abreast of emerging data technologies and best practices and apply them to enhance our data infrastructure. · Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. · Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to leverage data for strategic insights and business growth. Essential Skills: . Minimum 13 years of experience. · Extensive experience in designing and building data pipelines using tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or similar technologies. · Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala. · Deep understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query). · Strong knowledge of data modelling, ETL processes, and data governance principles. · Proven ability to lead complex data engineering projects and deliver high-quality solutions. · Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. · Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
